Matt Damon, the next US president?

It's rumoured that Matt Damon, the actor best known for films such as The Bourne Identity, could be the next president of the US after Obama. I first heard this on 5 News and I was caught off-guard. Got to admit he was serious about this and you can read more on this here.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but the article doesn't actually mention Matt Damon's opinion on it... It's all just unconfirmed rumours. But yeah, he wouldn't be the first celebrity in politics in the US. It seems he's too much of a left winger to actually stand a chance though.
