Merry Freakin' Christmas A$$hole!

Some asshole (excuse language) shot a deer on my property. The asshole left the deer laying where it fell. I went to check the deer and it was NOT dead. Clearly the deer was mortally wounded so I did what I had to do. Yes, I own a firearm and yes I put the deer out of its misery. I'm an animal lover as you most know and that was one of the hardest things I had to do. I called one of my friends to come and take the deer away.



My property is clearly marked NO TRESPASSING & NO HUNTING. Well, that didn't stop this asshole. People wonder why people have guns. Now you know why I have one. That asshole could have just as well shot me if I was in range of that deer and he/she missed. I would have shot back without hesitation. Not to kill the asshole but to let the asshole know I am armed and dangerous.

I had to help track a deer that a friend of mine shot and didn't kill when we were out hunting several years ago. Not only did it jump a fence onto private property that was posted, it may have also crossed a state line.



In the end, we lost it. Even when wounded, or maybe even especially when wounded, a deer can run like hell.



I'm sorry you had to do that, but sometimes, it cannot be helped. My friend is a good shot, and was using the correct firearm for the job, he said that as soon as he squeezed the trigger the deer took a step forward so he missed 'the kill zone', and never got a second shot.



The law here requires hunters to make a good effort to retrieve wounded game. We must have walked three miles, through the Taber State Forest, a swamp, through some private land, and, like I said, possibly even across a state line. To me, that was a good effort.

No, it is not open season for deer hunting now. That was last month.

I yelled out just in case there was someone with a gun tracking the deer. No reply and no human tracks either.

Based on that information, it was indeed a poacher, and a lousy one at that.
