Super Bowl commercials are part of the reason why non-sports lovers will watch the big game. The commercials often are exciting, funny, and everything in between.

During the Kansas City Chiefs win against the San Francisco 49ers, the Minnesota Gophers women's soccer team was featured in a Super Bowl commercial through an NIL deal. The team was featured in a Daryl Isaacs commercial. Isaacs is a personal injury lawyer based out of Louisville, Kentucky.

His daughter, Alex Isaacs, is a goaltender on the team.

Alex had the following to say about the commercial, according to Marielle Mohs of CBS Sports.

"I was a little embarrassed, of course, because it was my dad making the commercial, but other than that, it was really fun and an awesome opportunity for us."

According to CBS, this NIL deal is different as every player on the team has signed an endorsement deal.

Minnesota went 7-6-4 during the 2023 season, posting a 3-5-2 record in the Big Ten. Despite failing to make the Big Ten Tournament, they competed and will look to improve in 2024.

As they look to improve next season, NIL deals can only help. Soccer recruiting, just like football, basketball, and other sports, helps when programs have funds to spend.

More deals like this for the Gophers could help their future recruiting classes. Deals like this are important for women's sports, too. Isaacs spoke about what that meant to her.

"It's important to have that equal representation for women's and men's sports," said Isaacs.
