This was a poem I had written after hearing a story of a boy who committed suicide because he was being bullied. I guess my intent was to make people realize how bullying doesn't end well for anyone.

Moonlight Euology

written by Fatal Dawn

As I drift out to the moon’s gaze -

Above my eye’s gentle haze,

Thoughts of the forgotten surface to thought.

Solemn faces fill the mind’s empty slot.

No sense in thinking of what ought -

Those who could have been saved,

But were not.

Victims of the brutality and hate,

Searching all exits for a decent escape.

Jagged thorns on every side,

The abyss of pain opens wide.

A life done in by their own nervous hand -

Searching all exits from life’s demand.

The inner scene fades to black...

And soft words are taken back. And realization

Turns to regret turns to tears.

Just one more chance to treat them dear.

But not one minute is remembered oddly -

Those overlooked words, spoken oh so softly.

Regrets of the mind for actions of the body.

Run, run - life must go on.

Turn the lights back on.

Turn the page of the forgotten -

The book of endless faces

Ones you could have - should have saved.

Could have, should have treated better...

Make your mistakes. Leave your debt during the day

Because you'll be paying your dues later that night.

Standing by their grave. Delivering your moonlight eulogy.

In this sea of life - this world of minnow and sharks.

Fire ignites amongst the sparks.

Only with a tragic dose of loss,

Can we recognize another’s cross.

It’s too late,

The requirements have not been met

The damage is done. The counter is set

As I drift out to the moon’s gaze -

Above my eye’s gentle haze,

Thoughts of the forgotten surface to thought.

Solemn faces fill the mind’s empty slot.

No sense in thinking of what ought -

Those who could have been saved,

But were not.

Thanks smooth. I appreciate your kind comment.
