Mother: ‘I’m raising a possible serial killer’

A mother has revealed that she thinks her seven-year-old son might one day turn into a serial killer.

Rylan was adopted from a meth addict by Kim and Ryan when he was just a baby, but has gone on to display some disturbing behaviour.

He was also addicted to drugs and, when they first got him, Kim and Rylan were unable touch his skin because it hurt him so much.

Now Kim and Ryan desperately want help.

In the past Rylan has:
1.. He has an imaginary robot friend called Bleeder and, at the age of six, Rylan said Bleeder told him to chop his fingertips off. He locked himself in the bathroom and used a razor blade ‘because he wanted to see them bleed’ and feel the pain.
2. Threatened to kill his family.
3. Frequently held his breath so long that he passes out.
4. When he was three he stabbed a watermelon repeatedly.

Speaking on the Dr Phil Show, his mother said: ‘He talks about stabbing us, about how he’s going to lift [knives] up over his head and plunge them into our chests so that he gets the best impact.

‘My biggest fear is that we’re raising a school shooter, a mass murderer, a serial killer.’

Kim revealed that both of Rylan’s parents had bipolar disorder and his mother was addicted to drugs.

Although they are now separated, Kim and Ryan take it in turns to look after Rylan.

Kim added: ‘I want to live with Rylan, but having him at home is too terrifying. Although it’s hard to send Rylan away to hospitals, what other choice do we have?’

His father said: ‘We have not lived a normal day in probably the last three years. When he loses all control, our last resort is a therapeutic hold.

‘We’ve had to hold him for upwards of 45 minutes to an hour. I don’t enjoy doing that to my son, it’s a necessary evil.’

Stop seeking attention through the media and find some real help for him.

I saw this on Dr Phil, and it's good they're getting help for him because he desperately needs it. They need help being parents, too, because they are in denial about their parenting style. It simply doesn't work for a child with his needs.

If it was my kid, I would do everything possible to get the proper help until I saw positive results.

This behavior is stemming from something. This child needs a complete physical and mental evaluation. This would be my first step if this were my son.

It sounds like he was born a drug addict because of his mother, and that could possibly have an affect on his cognitive and physical development of the brain both inside and outside the womb. It doesn't help that his guardians don't know how to parent him at home because, let's face it, they're in over their heads.  The best thing they did was seek help from someone who was willing to bring awareness to what happens when there are several facets of a situation like this.

The boy needs to be committed long term to a good mental institution. Secondly, if the foster parents are having this much trouble with the boy, than they need to put him back up for adoption instead of embarrassing the poor child through the media and let a more mature person adopt him and make the better appropriate decisions other than putting the poor kid through more crap that will only make him worse.
