I have a Universal Machine and an Elliptical machine in my basement. I made the resolution to work out more and get myself in shape but I can't get motivated. By the time I get home from work I just crash out and watch tv.

For those that work out how do you get and stay motivated?

My prom is in April. XD

Umm...I don't think that'd work, though.

Well, I just do it for basketball..

I have absolutely no motivation to go running. No positive reinforcement and no negative reinforcement. I still often manage to get myself to go do it. My matabolism is still high, so it's not like I'm going to gain weight. And I don't really feel better after running.

For me, it's the fact that I don't have a flat stomach and I'm not ripped. Most of my friends are athletes, so they generally stay in really good shape. Plus, most of them are strong. So I just feel like I really need to extend myself to be able to compete with them.

I think if you get some friends together and play sports, you'll be a bit more motivated to get into shape, even if just to show off. Plus, if your family has issues...that could be a good motivator. I'd say doing some independent research and finding online motivation is good. I've seen quite a few people who join online groups and are motivated by competing against the other people in the group.
