At an event in New York City today, Motorola announced three new Moto smartphones, including a new Moto G and two Moto X editions that bring in the next generation of their iconic lineup into 2015.
The mid tier Moto G 2015 will pack a 5 inch 720p, 1280×720 display with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front facing camera. It’s got a quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor. There will be two variants, a 1GB RAM, 8GB storage and a 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, both with microSD slot.
What’s also really cool about the Moto G is it’s IPX7 water resistant rating – watch out, Sony. It’s also got a 2470mAh battery that should last most users all day.
The Moto G 2015 will be available starting $180 on Amazon and BestBuy today, and expected to be in stores on August 2.
The Moto X Style has a bigger 5.7 inch, 2560×1440 display. It has an awesome 21MP camera, which Motorola says is their best ever, and a 5MP front facing camera.
Under the hood, the Style has a 1.8 hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB RAM. It comes in 16, 32 and 64GB variants with microSD slot, and has a 3000mAh battery to keep you through the day. The device has a 76% screen to body ratio, and is also covered in water-repellant coating.
Moto X Style will be available in September for $399 on Amazon, BestBuy and Motorola's site.
And last but not least, the Moto X Play, which sports a 5.5 inch, 1080p display. It has a 21MP rear camera, and a 5MP front facing camera. But this device’s main feature is it’s massive 3630mAh battery, which will definitely get you through more than a day.
The Moto X Play will be available starting next month and though no pricing has been announced, they do promise it’ll be way cheaper than the competition.
