My female co-worker has been in a long distant relationship with a guy she met on a forum. They live hundreds of miles apart she on the East Coast and he on the West Coast. They talk by email every day and once a week on the phone. They have exchanged pictures via the internet and and send each other e-cards. This has been going on for a year now and they have never met in person. She tells me she is in love and going to marry this man one day. They have even named the future kids that they plan on having. She's a good friend of mine and I have a BIG problem with this. The guy has never mentioned them meeting face-to-face or given her an address of where he lives. I have checked him out and know for a fact that he is single.
I told her to move on because I don't trust a guy that never mentions meeting her or that will give her his address. There are guys right here in my town that ask her out and she tells them she's in a committed relationship and has a boyfriend. She cries on my shoulder when there are events that she's been invited to but wouldn't attend because there are couples there and she doesn't feel comfortable going alone.
