Some people say moving to a new house is one of the most stressful experiences a person can have. Do you agree?

Tell us about your most stressful moves? Smoothest ones?

I've moved more times than I can count at this point, never laying down roots, so to speak. It's stressful, most definitely, but you adapt and you look forward to setting up the new place how you want it, so it becomes fun. The moving part, not so fun, but you do it to get to the new house :)

Me too.
Always very stressful and never ready....but....away you go - ready or not. o_O

If the relocation is done freely and carefully planned, stress level should be minimal. Being forced to abandon your home and relocate elsewhere against your will is defnitely a highly stressful event.

Some of us 'free movers' just go into a tizzy though.

Yes, I find moving to be stressful. You're constantly loading and unloading big pieces of heavy furniture and other items that make it feel like it will take forever to do so. We recently moved my sister to a different state and she just had a trailer home, but we too are thinking about moving to that state. Our house has so much stuff in it I couldn't imagine moving it all.

You won't move it all; you'll 'ditch' a lot of it.
Trust me, I've been there.

My brother is so frustrating to work with. He makes everything way more difficult than it needs to be. He is a drama queen, complainer .... and my stuff ALWAYS ends up scratched or broken when he helps. Last time I moved I enlisted some different people and was smooth sailing the whole time.
