Just recently I've moved 200+ miles across the length of England to attend University. It's slightly scary as this is the first time that I will be in a big city by myself, and I come from a small town and am not used to the city, and I'm worried about getting lost.

Has anyone here had similar experiences like this?

200 miles isnt that far away.

I grew up in a town 100 miles from here and a lot of my family still lives down there. Takes me about an hour and a half to drive down to see them. Actually that town was bigger than this one. It has about half a million people and this town has about 300,000 people. They both seem the same to me though. Ive been in this town for my entire teenage / adult life though.

I would google the area where you are and collect information about the town. You should also buy a map of the area if you haven't done so yet. I would go on some excursions with friends to check out the area.

You've only been there a short time. Once people get to know you, you are going to have plenty of friends!

What about your roommates?

We don't see much of each other, other than meeting in the corridor.

Aww, Dragon, that's such a short time and you'll meet people soon. I think a lot of it has to do with leaving home for the first time and being in a new place. New places are great fun once you get to know the area. It's scary in the beginning but as you branch out you'll find yourself looking forward to getting out more.

You'll be fine, just you wait and see. In a few days they'll be offering sheep and virgins to you

Making friends is not as hard as they say. All you do is be yourself and make a bit of an effort to get to know people. I had to do it when I moved to a new city. No-one is going to come to you - you have to go to them.
