Had an MRI today. It was scary and extremely loud. Why!? I've never heard something so loud before. I thought I was in the Iraq war.

I found out what MRI stands for:

M - Mad

R - Relentless

I - Imaging

lol

I have juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA) and they wanted to look at the muscles/tissue I suppose.

I thought they'd play some music or something, I've heard they do that. I suppose it's loud coz of all the magnetssssss.

Since I am very clausterphobic, when I have to have a MRI, I go to the facility that has an open MRI machine. They let you pick the music you want to listen to and give you headphones. The cannot give you headphones in a closed MRI machine. The open MRI machine is also very quiet. Next time you have to have a MRI, I suggest to anyone the open MRI option.

I've had both an open MRI and a closed MRI. Unfortunately, the option wasn't mine this time. The appointment was setup and I just had to get it done. An open MRI is so much better compared to a closed MRI.
