My grandma has had Alzheimer's disease for a few years now, and she's getting extremely bad. The other day we went over there and surprised her and she had flooded the kitchen with water, because she forgot she had the faucet running after she turned it on and went off and kept it going. Fortunately me and my sister were there to help clean it up, but afterwards I went outside and took some photos because she's a huge plant lover and I only got two pictures because I started thinking... This will be the last year she'll be able to do plants and her garden. I don't know why, but it just bothered me really bad, because she's always loved planting and spending her time on the flowers and the landscape around their house. Before I left, she said, I love you Josh, and it almost made me tear up, because she always calls me phillip or mathew, or someone else. As I said, only a couple photos, but their meaningful to me.

That first photo looks immaculate. She must have put a lot of care into that garden....

Offtopic: When I saw the thread title, I thought it said Grandma's Pants..... *whistles*

lol Thanks.. and changed title so it's all good.

What beautiful pictures and you can see a lot of love went into her garden. Alzheimer's disease is, IMO, one of the saddest things that happens to a person. It's like they go from adults and revert right back to being helpless children. I volunteer at a local nursing home and there are several Alzheimer patients there. The nursing home has a beautiful area where patients are allowed to plant flowers or feed the birds. I hope where your Nana goes she will still be able to garden. I send you and Nana a

because this is a very hard thing for the family and Nana to have to deal with.

Wow. I can tell she loved her garden and she loves you, Jay. My great aunt has Alzheimer's and she moved to a really nice home a few months ago. I went to go visit her with my grandparents and mom back in February and I was amazed at how nice it was, but it really makes me tear up because for the past few years, my mom or grandparents would always have to say who I am and it's so sad.
