I live in a very small town and rural area. TBH,I was shocked that there were three of them here.

You are absolutely correct Smooth. I looked up the three around me and all three are child molesters. The worst part is one of them lives almost across the street from the High School. It was my impression that they could not live anywhere near a school but maybe I'm wrong.

It says there is 466 in my city of 300,000. I suppose it could be worse. I had one living on my street at my old place. My new place shows there is none on my street but there is a couple in the surrounding streets.



Anyone can be a sex offender. There is a 1st time for everything. The best thing is to be observant of people and be safe.

They are trying to make it so that people can see if there's any sex offenders are living in peoples areas in the UK, But the government won't allow it. But I think it's an alright idea.

when I saw how many I had when I used to live on the other side of town in Florida...there was one next to me who I would have never guessed!!! He used to sit on his porch and everytime I'd take my daughter outside he'd meet her at our yard lines and give her a Blow Pop!!!!

Yeah where I used to live there was one who molested his own daughter but he was never arrested for it so he didnt show up on the lists. He told one of my neighbors about it when he was drunk one night. I remember when my daughter was playing out side he would say hi to her or whatever.. I told her not to talk to him or if he is around, make sure that I am around.

..and I told him not to talk to or look at her when I found out.

Looks like they are considering it:



A working group from the Ministry of Justice is considering whether Finland could create an online registry of pedophiles' home addresses, reports the newspaper Aamulehti.



In the United States, convicted pedophiles’ names are published on the internet.



“It is worth considering. The working group is certainly discussing this issue and whether it would be legally possible in Finland,” Janne Kanerva of the Justice Ministry told Aamulehti.



Strict laws about privacy could, however, prevent the creation of such a registry in Finland.



The working group is also considering whether or not Finnish legislation corresponds to the Council of Europe’s declaration on preventing child sexual exploitation.
