Nearly got jury summoned

Yep I did
Today i got in the mail jury summons
That was going start next month
But then i called pushed back to march after I turn 22 Convently
So that was close
This would not had happen if doctor just sign the note that had disitblty
But no she refuse because term autism has changed blah blah

I was summoned in July but opted to get dismissed for another year. Now I have until next July! We'll see what happens then.

I got caught for jury service when I was bang on 18. The minimum age to do it.

I've always just been called in and dismissed, or called the phone number and entered the number on the form I got in the mail, then dismissed that way. Never served on an actual jury before.

I loved doing my jury service, yea I was nervous when I got called up but was fun.

What was it like? What did the person do and did they go to jail?

I served and after four days, the guy pleaded guilty and we were sent home. Could have saved us a lot of time and trouble if he just had done this on the first day.

One was an assault charge, the guy got off although he did hit him and knocked out his front tooth, the other guy instigated the fight. Sounded like a right little s*** who deserved to be hit. The judge and jury agreed that the accused had suffered enough with losing his place at uni and other stuff so let him go. I think he did have to pay some money to the guy for dental fees though.

The second was a traffic incident, can't remember exactly but I think he got 6 points on his already unclean licence and banned from driving for so many months (actually think that was from the accumulation of points.) Basicly he suffered a bout of road rage and cut this girl up slamming into the front wing of her car, didn't do much damaged to his tank of a land rover, but messed up her old Corsa pretty bad.

If I'd have got called up the week before I would have been put on a murder case. Glad I didn't as I only had a week then I was off on holiday,
