Mr. Biden told a meeting of mayors in Washington Thursday that he was about a quarter-mile away from an Amish schoolhouse on Oct. 2, 2006, when a gunman shot and killed five students and wounded five others.



“I happened to be literally — probably, it turned out, to be a quarter of a mile [away] at an outing when I heard gunshots in the woods,” Mr. Biden recounted. “We didn’t know … we thought they were hunters.”

Update:

Moccasin Run, the closest club to the Nickel Mines community, is about six miles away.

King said he has combed through his club's database, which records the name of every player who uses the course, to double-check the claim.

We have no record of him being here that day, or that he has ever golfed here, he said.

As for the scene at the course the day in question, King said it was just like every other day.

There was no outing or special event, he said. Like most days, it was open to the public.

In Mister Biden's defense, it well could be that he's just a babbling idiot who doesn't know what he did and got his mouth running and was unable to stop it.

She then played the clip of CNN’s Jessica Yellin confronting Press Secretary Jay Carney on the comments, repeatedly asking if a picture of the activity existed and why no one had ever heard of him doing it before.
