What are your thoughts on necroposting? This is when members reply to a very old topic and bring it back to life.

I’m fine with it if the topic still has discussion value, it’s the content that matters not the dates attached to the posts.

Yes, the majority of them are from 2015 & older. So if we had an issue with people necroposting, we might as well delete every thread / post on the entire forum and start over. Lol

Doesn't bug me much anymore if they are adding something to the discussion. I've changed a lot of my forum views due to how different the times are now compared to 2009.

I don't mind it if it's relevant to the discussion at hand and worthy of being bumped. In fact, I would prefer someone necropost a thread then post one about the exact same subject.

Don't recall entirely, but I'm almost certain I have before, if not a few times in fact.

Yeah some of them on larger forums can be so rude about it! Yelling at you to use the search function. It’s not really a big deal, I don’t expect anyone here to search before creating a new topic.

Not here! This forum was closed from 2016-2022 so you can see 2015 posts all over the place.

I expect larger forums that have been open for a very long time to have the issue more often.

Yes, I have. Of course it was way back in the day where moderation felt more...strict and not as transparent? I dislike being called out in public, but it has happened before.

There’s still some moderators out there that are like that. Mainly on huge forums.
