So I'm sick, and I think stress from work has contributed to this sickness besides the fact that my immune system is not very good right now (and because of the extreme weather change). Well I'm supposed to work on Saturday as some kind of assistant but I'm like 90% sure I won't be able to do it. I'm planning to tell my manager about it tomorrow - Friday (they know I'm sick today - Thursday) but I'm actually kind of scared that they'll get mad or something because it's like so sudden and I'm afraid they may not find a replacement for me. But you know, you can't really predict sickness and my health and well being are always my top priority, so I hope they're okay with it. Do you think they'll be okay with it?

Sometimes it's better to go and work when you are only 60% than stay at home and feel miserable. If you stay at home you will be stressed out wondering if not going to work will have caused you problems with the boss(s).

I guess it depend on how really sick you are. Cause like you said, health is your top priority and should always be, if you can still work while being sick I guess go for it but if you're too sick for it, you should just stay at home and get better. I'm sure they can understand that, health is supposed to be top priority for EVERYONE. But I do understand because myself, I don't feel comfortable telling my boss that I'm sick and I will stay home, I always feel like I'm missing work and putting everyone in deep trouble because they have someone missing.

I'm with Kale on this one, your health comes before any job. Hopefully your employer will understand that you're not feeling well, I know some employers are better than others.

Thanks guys! Thankfully my managers are very understanding, they told me to just have some rest until I feel better.

that’s good. Usually if youre pretty reliable then the rare sickness will be excused. If you’re “sick” all the time, they won’t be so nice.

Yep, this is a power that you can't abuse!
