It looks like "Gravity" might have a deep impact on the future of special effects in Hollywood, judging from the latest trailer for the upcoming space thriller.

The new promo clip, aptly titled "Detached," features Sandra Bullock and George Clooney as NASA astronauts facing a disastrous scenario while on a space walk outside a shuttle in orbit of Earth.

The camera swirls around the astronauts in 360 degree loops as they scramble for their lives in a race against time. Some of the shots look strikingly realistic and viewers might start to feel like they're actually lost in space by trailer's end.

"Gravity" comes from filmmaker Alfonso Cuaron, known for the critically acclaimed "Y Tu Mama Tambien" as well as "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban." He also directed 2006's "Children of Men," and indeed, some of the shots in his latest trailer are reminiscent of the infamous car chase scene from that film.

In addition to directing "Gravity," Cuaron also co-wrote the film's screenplay with his son, Jonas.

The film will make its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in August before crashing into U.S. theaters on Oct. 4.

You can watch the new trailer below, but we caution that it's not for those who are prone to motion sickness.
