How do you feel about not being allowed to post links to your own sites on other people's forums? (this includes having links in your signatures)

That'd be completely stupid. Not allowing links to even their dA or YT profiles? I'd probably leave that forum if I saw it.

Might be a sign of insecurity, thinking if members see a link to something else, they'll leave the forum forever and never return. It also could be a way to make the forum feel "spam-free" but allowing members to advertise in their signatures and/or in an advertisement forum isn't considered spam to most of us.

Some forum owners are afraid that the advertising will take their members away. That's fine and those are forums that I don't need to join.
