So I've used forums for quite some time now but for me they're becoming a thing of the past. I do not think I will be starting a new forum anytime soon nor am I active on many.

Does anyone else feel that forums are getting a bit boring?

It depends on the forum, like here I have friends that I chat with daily and that makes it worthwhile. :)

Off Topix is the best forum I've ever seen. But when you go to the advert area you see ad after ad after ad about *CRAP* sites.

The reason I do not want to start a forum is because you get same old people from sites like here and stuff there is no actual decent advertising schemes anymore. Years ago promotion forums would of been the BEST. But I don't know anymore. Maybe I'm just too boring.

Yeah promoting is a pain and sometimes making ads / bumping threads on the promotion forums available to us is not really yielding anyone any substantial results.

I think it depends which forum that you're on. I'll never get tired of Off Topix. It's the best. :D

I think forums may have become bit of a niche, with a majority of people flocking to social media sites such as Facebook instead.

I've really lost interest in forums in general myself. One site I was a member of was just becoming too dramatic, my own forum I was losing interest in and was lucky to have time to even come on and post anymore, so it's like, just screw it already! This is the only site I'm really truly active on. On the whole, I think I'm kind of losing interest in forums all together. Same old, same old crap everyday anyway. I probably have more friends here than I ever did any other site. Well, I'm on Nintendo Forums, but that's the only other site I'm truly interested in anymore.

I gave up on the new forum I was working on. Paid theme, paid host and everything. Just got refunded by Hawkhost for domain and web hosting.

It takes too much effort to do a forum these days.

I have become rather disinterested in forums recently. I'm not as active here as I used to be and the same goes for my forum, I'd rather be outside walking or chilling out watching tele, reading or playing games.

rofl. The only thing I use my phone for is Facebook when I'm on the road. That's about it really.

I've never been a forum goer, much because wherever I've signed up I usually just don't feel like there's a point for me to post.

If you look at forums that used to be extremely big back in 07/08/09, you'll see that some of them are dead, while others have decreased drastically in activity. I do believe that forums are slowly dying down, but I don't see foruming dying.
