NEW YORK – Keith Olbermann was MSNBC's most popular personality and single-handedly led its transformation to an outspoken, left-leaning cable news network in prime time. Despite that, he often seemed to be walking on a tightrope with his job. Friday night, it snapped.

Olbermann returned from one last commercial break on Countdown to tell viewers it was his last broadcast, and read a James Thurber short story in a three-minute exit statement. Simultaneously, MSNBC e-mailed a statement that MSNBC and Keith Olbermann have ended their contract. The network thanked him and said, we wish him well in his future endeavors.

Who cares, its not like I get my news from the huge corrupt cable corporations anyway. Olbermann is a good guy, but he'll be fine wherever he ends up.

Ten times as intelligent and ten times as factual as any of the Fox idiots despite how his views were so visible through his program.

---

I long for the day in American news where the news personality is a trivial piece of the puzzle and where the facts are all that matter.

Says who?

But after thinking about this, attempting to be a more unbiased network seems to be the only reason I could come up with in firing their top rated personality.

I see the same sort of thing on the horizon for Glenn Beck.

He's gone so far out in left... well, I mean Right Field that even his own supporters are starting to bail on him.

It won't take long for Fox to either tell him to turn it down a notch or go see if AlGore's network will hire him too.

Its not just the fact that he's way off in right field, he's just a plain idiot.
