I was told recently that I was not allowed, by the Laws of God and Man, to walk my daughter down the aisle on her wedding day, in a shirt I had owned since she was in the fifth grade.

I had to go buy a new white shirt.

Which brought up the subject of how old and out of date some of my clothes are.

I still wear prison guard uniform issue work shoes to work about once a week. They're perfectly good black shoes, even though they are at least old enough to drive themselves to work. (I haven't worked at the prison in over fifteen years!)

My wife recently found a picture of me wearing a shirt with a rather distinctive pattern on it holding my youngest daughter when she was a baby.... She's now in her twenties. The shirt is in the closet, I think I wore it to the rehearsal dinner two weeks ago.

Oh well.

SO, Question.

How old are your oldest clothes that you still wear on a more or less regular basis?

Wow, that's why you're called DrLeftover. :P

No I do the same thing bro. I hold things and hold things, especially clothing, if it's like my favorite shirt or whatnot. Some things I'll get rid of, but I have some shoes 'black ones' that have holes from the outside in on the bottom of the feet that I still wear outside to do yard work. So, I feel you there bro.

How are those clothes still intact? Are they full of holes and worn out?

Anyway, I have some really old clothes too that I wear as pajamas or if I'm going to be doing some sort of work or activity that will get me dirty. Some of my shirts are like 15 years old and they are in pretty bad shape.

The majority of my shirts that are that old are fine. Just old, but some are showing signs of wear and age.

To start with, I never put my shirts in the clothes drier.

Do you hang them in the back yard on a clothes line?
