A London artist and sci-fi fan has handstitched the entire Star Wars saga onto a 30ft Bayeux-style tapestry.

Aled Lewis's Coruscant Tapestry depicts the Star Wars story from Episode 1 through to Episode 6.

It features quotes from each film written in Aurebesh - the fictional system of writing within the Star Wars universe - on the surrounding border.

There is even a separate wooden translation plate for viewers to translate the symbols in the border of the tapestry.

The Coruscant Tapestry is currently on display at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles where it's on sale for 12,000.

Mr Lewis came up with the idea to create a Star Wars tapestry last year and started to map it out through notes and sketches.

He watched and rewatched the films and read up on what were considered to be the major plot points and the key players in the main story during the saga.

He then ordered a ten metre piece of continuous fabric from Germany and the cotton thread was shipped from France.

The whole process took him six months from formulating the idea to hemming the finished tapestry.

"I'd always admired the artistry and detail and scale of the Bayeux Tapestry and the Coruscant Tapestry is very much homage to that," he said.

If you could afford it, would you buy this tapestry?

It's very unique but not my style. Plus I don't have a 30 foot wall that I could put it on.
