What is one trend in music that you despise?

That is perhaps too strong a word.

There are several that I could perhaps live the rest of my life quite happily if I never heard again, but to say I actively have that level of emotion toward them is a bit much.

There are some very talented musicians who have expressed their talent in music genres that I have no personal use for, but if you like, say, dubstep (which I consider one 'step' this side of noise pollution and I'm not sure 'dubsteppers' are musicians, but...), you are free to do so, and if I hear about a performance of it nearby, I'll let you know.

But to me, if you want to dance....

In recent years there seems to be a collaboration trend. I think this has come from hip hop where multiple vocalists are common practice, but nearly every charting song now is "XXX by X featuring Y & Z". Half the time the collaboration adds very little to the song. I'm not against them as a whole, but for example, "Drop That Kitty" having three vocalists is no better than having two.

I semi-hated this trend until early last year. Before that I only listened to bands.

Country Rap. It's just awful!
