So my rabbit has a large outdoor cage. Actually its two cages I stuck together.. I was holding it the other day and I noticed a cut on its back. Like something attacked it or something. Which is strange because nothing can get in its cage.

A couple days later my neighbor's dog has a cut on it too..

What could be doing these things? There is no wildlife here except for stray cats.. Could there be a person around sneaking in to harm the animals?

Ive been wondering about it for a few days.

My guess is that it's a a pack of feral cats and they will attack anything in search of food. Both your rabbit and the neighbors dog should be checked out by a vet. Feral cats can be rabid and have been known to attack humans as well. Be careful when your daughter is outside playing that these cats aren't in the vacinity. I would also reccomend calling Animal Control in your area to report these feral cats.

Did you call the police or something?

Good question Evil as I would have called the Police to see if there are any other reports of this.

Bumping thread in hopes Nebulous will respond.

Well the cuts have healed and haven't happened again. Hopefully they wont happen again.

That's good. Yeah, that's kind of scary. Could of just been another animal or something that caused all the harm. Who knows? At least they're getting better and no more cuts are appearing. My dog's never been cut or hurt, but one time she was limping for a while, but she could of just hurt herself doing something.

Seems weird how the rebbit is well protected in its cage but yet its still gets cut, maybe it was the feral cats or it may have cut itself in the cage by running around or something...I'm glad the cut has heeled now and I hope it doesn't acure again.
