OK—very briefly, Pat’s Steaks and and Geno’s Steaks are two competing cheesesteak franchises in South Philadelphia, each across the street from each other. Their friendly rivalry goes back decades and is a city tradition.

Arguments abound --and perhaps blows or worse have been exchanged -- over which place makes the best Philadelphia cheesesteak (Note: the best cheesesteaks in Philadelphia proper...

--- --- ---

So when Republican PA. Senatorial candidate and erstwhile New Jersey resident carpetbagger Mehmet Oz recently made the required pilgrimage to Pat’s and Geno’s to troll for votes, well, the seasoned, genuine Pennsylvania Democratic candidate had a fitting riposte at the ready.

*looks around* @WHO IS SERAFIN, I want to know for the life of me how a conservative individual like yourself can defend a carpetbagging New Jerseyite like Mehmet Oz for the Senate seat in Pennsylvania?

Maybe its' just me, but I prefer my Senate candidates to actually be from the state they're running to represent and not from another state....

I don’t know enough about it all to give a opinion on the doctors residency status except he did it legally and if the people don’t like the current state of how it’s done they need to change it. Otherwise it looks like he will be getting elected.

Whether Mehmet Oz came here legally or not is irrelevant; what is relevant is that a native of New Jersey is trying to carpetbag his way into a Senate sea in Pennsylvania.

It’s very relevant if he is following the law or not and he is. If the democrat politicians controlling that area of government for decades were really concerned they would have changed that rule long ago but they like having that option in place.

Irrelevant to the point in the OP, Serafin.

Memhet Oz doesn't even live in Pennsylvania but he thinks he's a better choice than the person running against him who does?
Seriously?

It’s relevant, if the people vote for him, it says they don’t care.

Then I can't wait for a Democrat to try the same campaign....

It could happen, hell it’s probably already happened. Should the law change? Sure it should but I can’t blame for doing it if it’s legal.

Its' still low-handed as hell.

Just as, for instance, when Trump charged like a bull through all the rules and traditions and norms of being President. He could do it because there was no electoral/legal penalty to doing so but it cheapened the office of President when he did so.
