pack rat noun
: a person who collects or keeps things that are not necessarily needed

Are you a pack rat? Who is the biggest pack rat you know?
Is it hard for you to get rid of your stuff?

What is the difference between a pack rat and a hoarder in your opinion?

Are you a pack rat? Not consciously. Meaning I don't go out of my way to accumulate things. Last time I moved, and was packing, I found a lot of items that I no longer needed or used. I packed them up separately and took them to the Red Cross. Then guess what happened? After I moved and settled in, I then needed something I gave away.

Who is the biggest pack rat you know? A co-worker. I can't stand going to her house. She has newspapers, magazines, knickknacks, dolls and other stuff all over her house. It's very messy and hard to even find a place to sit down.

Is it hard for you to get rid of your stuff? If it has no sentimental value to me, then I have no problem giving away stuff I no longer need or use.

What is the difference between a pack rat and a hoarder in your opinion? Not sure as they pretty much mean the same to me.

Umm, I work with her and don't think she'd appreciate me doing that to her!

She might need it! :P
