Scenario:

(If you are a female reading this then this would be your husband)

Your wife is suffering from a debilitating disease that has put her in constant permanent pain and agony. Finally, one day, she decides that she really wants to die. However, her condition is such that she cannot die on her own. She is begging and pleading with you to help her commit suicide. This would, of course, be illegal.

What would you do?

I'd pinch myself as I'd probably be dreaming. I'm not married and it is legal

More seriously? Go to Switzerland or something.

If it is illegal, but she had it clearly defined in her will, than I could help her and still be able to hold my own in court.

If not, than I wouldn't do anything. She'll die eventually; no need to go to prison for it.

Well luckily euthanasia is legal here. If it weren't, I'd help her. It'd be cruel if I didn't let her die. No one deserves that kind of end.

Since the scenario didn't make me believe the disease is terminal (only [background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]debilitating), I would seek another professional opinion. Perhaps the current treatment is not effective in this situation. Just because my love one was in pain, is not enough for me to give up hope. [/background]
