When you go to the store, what is your answer to this question?

Paper or plastic?

season 4 episode 13 GIF

I think my mom brings her own, that that's what the grocery store does now.

I use reusable bags, just because it's easier and I don't have to pay an extra few cents to buy another one. If I didn't have my reusable bags, however, I wouldn't really care whether it was paper or plastic as long as the paper bags had handles.

Our state has "outlawed" the use of non-reusable plastic grocery/shopping bags. And so I have been using canvas/cloth bags for grocery shopping. But recently Winco has been offering (for a charge) a very sturdy bag/box thing which I have been thoroughly converted to....very similar to this, except that it has some gaudy advertising on it  : much, much easier to load than limp bags which keep collapsing when you're trying to fill them.
(these things are also available on Amazon! & they're much prettier :))

I buy a lot of our groceries at Costco too, which has never offered paper or plastic bags at checkout.

It has taken SOME time to re-program myself to take the bags from the car to the store before shopping; so, after a few trips from the store back to the car to take my bags/boxes into the store.......I'm getting there.

I voted for I bring my own bags from home. That's what I do. Whenever I go on shopping, I always bring my own bags. The only exception to this rule is when I go shopping with any plans. In situations like this, I will prefer paper bags. If that is not an option, I will buy reusable cloth bags.

Same here, they do provide bags but they are 10 cents each (instead of free). The plastic bags you pay for are thicker and are meant to be reused. Recently I was in another state and they had the thin free bags we used to have, I was like WTF? They still make these? :P

We're not in KansasCalifornia anymore...

Would you rather live where you visited?

Nah, I’ll stay here. I have a nice house, a cheap mortgage and there’s lots of stuff to do here. I was just saying “unfortunately” because when I’m not on vacation I have to work and other responsibilities. Vacation-Nebby has no worries :D
