Paperwork with Inheritance?

Has any relatives left you a large sum of money after their passing? My aunt has, and they're actually fighting over her inheritance and things. It's becoming worse and worse by the day as I'm going through her pictures and albums and recordings. It's the hardest time for me yet that the passing of a loved one is directly affecting me. I don't know when I'll be back on the forums!

Yes. Since I live in California (and don't want to relocate) I was not able to buy a house outright with the inheritance money but I was able to buy 50% of a house (made a 50% down-payment). So my mortgage is pretty cheap as a result (compared to other people's typical mortgage around here).

The inheritance money caused some conflict in my family. Jealous family members (who didn't get anything) don't want me in their lives anymore. They expected me to share but if I did that I wouldn't have been able to buy a house. I'd really be screwed right now if I didn't buy a house, rent in my area has gotten so expensive I don't know how I would be able to put food on the table if I was still renting. Even shit-hole apartments in the ghetto are expensive now. Also the person who passed away instructed me to buy a house with the inheritance money so that's what I did. My angry family members should be mad at person who left them out of the will, not me. I didn't do anything to them.

No. Not yet. Won't know until my grandparents bite the big one.

Yeah. I'm not looking forward to the hardship that it'll bring. I feel like my grandparents are the only one's holding the family together.

They literally probably ARE the only thing holding the family together. My grandparents passed on both sides and my family on both sides is so fractured and splintered, I'll never have a real family gathering ever again. I'll be (and have been for the last few years) attending OTHER people's family gatherings on holidays or trying to piece together something with my "chosen family" (which is a couple family members I still talk to and some friends).
