Parade

Yes. I've been in my local carnival parade. I belonged to a youth group at the time and we dressed up in roman togas. Some of the guys hired roman centurions clothes and wore rollerskates to skate amongst the crowd collecting money for charity. I was a slave. I wore a toga and stood behind the 'emperor' as he sat on his throne. I waved a huge palm leaf on a long stick. I was the 'fanning' slave.

It was good fun.

I've also been dressed as a mermaid, a ghost and once, for a kindergarten float, we all dressed up as bumble bees. Apart from a couple who dressed as sunflowers.

Dressing up makes it much more fun!

Once a year I particpate in the Harley-Davidson Ride for Life parade. All proceeds go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. So far, since 1988 when this event started, the Harley- Davidson Ride For Life has raised over $15 million dollars. Riders come from all over the US to take part in this event. This year there were over 1,000 Harley riders that rode in the parade. Each rider pays $35 to participate. Nothing like seeing 1,000 Harley's all riding together.
