What lies did your parents tell you when you were a child ?

Here are a few I remember:

1) The car wouldn't start unless I had my seatbelt buckled.

2) You have to wait an hour after eating before you go swimming. If you don't, you'll get cramps and drown.

3) If you keep making that face, it'll freeze that way.

4) When the ice cream truck plays the music, that means it’s out of ice cream.

That Santa Claus existed    

One year I realized that santa and my grandma had the same exact handwriting.

In fact I got embarrassed and laughed at in Fifth grade because I still believed in Santa Claus.
Everyone told me there was no Santa Claus and I told everyone yes there is yes there is. Refused to believe.
Came home crying and my Grandma told me the truth. Was so upset.
Yeah my Mom should have probably told me earlier. To save myself from the embarrassment.
I know fifth grade is a little old to believe but I wanted to believe in something so bad.
