Partner annoyed because of community service?

Does your partner or spouse get annoyed because you take time to do community service or nice things for other people?

I ask because I offered to take an elderly gentleman from church to his dentist appointment and was shocked my husband's annoyed reaction. The dentist office is 45 minutes from our house and the gentleman lives about 25 minutes away.

No. I've never had a partner that ever felt inconvenienced over me helping strangers. My ex wives did get annoyed that I did help my mom and grandma often and felt that I did more for my fam than I did in my marriage.
