Pedestrian stops for red traffic light

A photograph of an over-cautious pedestrian waiting patiently at a red traffic light is going viral on Twitter.

The unidentified woman was spotted by teenager Imogen O'Neill walking along a road in Coventry.

The 18-year-old, took a picture of the woman after she stopped at the sign - intended for motorists - which read: "When red light shows wait here."

Miss O'Neill told the Coventry Telegraph: "We were driving up to the roadworks when we saw this women walking up and then just standing at the traffic lights.

"I said to my mum: "I think she's waiting at the traffic lights" but she didn't believe me at first.

"The woman just stood there waiting so I took a photo and then when the lights went green she carried on. I was just laughing so much."

Her photograph has been shared thousands of times on Twitter.
