What is the most extreme form of penny pinching you have ever witnessed?

I have a friend that goes to a store, buys clothes, carefully preserves them with tag while wearing them for whatever event, and then returns them. She does the same with shoes.

When I was a kid, all my clothes came from thrift stores and garage sales. Lots of my clothes had holes in them. :(

Aww, I can relate to this. Same thing happened to me. Or if I was really lucky, people would give my dad hand-me-down clothes. I really didn't care as long as I had something to wear. To me, they were new clothes.

To me, they were the reason I was ridiculed (sometimes, they didn't do it daily)...

To me they were the sole reason I was bullied. Didn't matter because my clothes didn't make the person I really was. My dad did the best he could and I appreciated it. My clothes, used or not were always clean and I was proud to wear them. Also glad I was bullied. Made me the person I am today. To this day, I find most of my clothes at thrift shops or second hand "gently used" clothes. Again, my clothes don't make the person I am.
