Has anyone else noticed the decline of internet activity? People say forums are dead but I think it’s the internet as a whole not just forums.

Nah, I think it's as alive as ever... they're probably just hanging out on phone apps instead of websites, or posting everything in private back-channels instead of public :P .

Yeah, I’ve noticed Snapchat and Discord are thriving but Facebook isn’t doing so well their traffic has dropped, So it might be the fact that people just want simple apps :D

Forums are not how they use to be but I wouldn’t say they’re completely dead but definitely not easy to get off the ground anymore!

I tried Reddit, didn’t like it.
I much prefer traditional forums, As hard as it is it’s still worth it for sure!
Yeah, I've got a Reddit account, but I'm not on there much, and I only post in a couple of specific subreddits.

I've never started a subreddit, because the kind of "general chat forum" that I'm used to simply wouldn't work there: it needs to be devoted to a specific subject. And I don't know what subject it'd be about (I have interests, of course, but they already have subreddits about them!)

imo Reddit is best for single topics such as a video game title or movie, Not whole niche’s such as technology for example.

But I tried it and it’s super limited compared to Xenforo.

How do you find them? Google doesn't seem to index small forums, for some reason. Bing is even worse.
That’s the issue. Google seems to be slowly catering towards Discord servers and big tech sites/forums.

If that’s the case then we doomed, Especially discord that’s only suppose to be a chat app.

Big sites and social media, yes - but Discord? Not at all.

In fact, one of my biggest problems with Discord is that Google has no access to the content at all. It's a private walled garden, so none of the content will show up on Google when I search for information about the topic.

IMO, the shift towards "just putting everything on Discord" is killing the usability of online communities as an information resource, for exactly this reason. Discord is good, but IMO it works best as something you add on to a pre-existing community: I don't like stand-alone Discords that have no presence elsewhere on the internet.

I do understand the big sites and social media to some extent, sites like Twitter and Facebook are capable of having decent content, Partially TikTok.
YouTube is also a good site for getting visual support and help, it's my favorite site.

But Discord?? As much as I like it, I don't think people are using it correctly, Many Gen Z's are bad for it, putting their communities on Discord alone and using it as a forum, is such a terrible approach and it's definitely killing online communities as we know it.

We have a discord but we also have our forums for more rich and serious conversations, Reddit and Facebook don't give you as much control as a Xenforo forum does but I can bare it because it can easily host decent content, But I will never support people using Discord as a standalone community platform.

Pretty sure its just people going to more non-forum sites, which is a rather sad thing :(
Good news is Facebook is dying too, it’s losing profit for the first time ever!

Bad news you might be right and it’s a worry, people are more in to quick apps like Snapchat or discord now.
