Do you like to "people watch" .. you know, just observe random people in public as they go about their lives.

What is the weirdest, funniest and/or coolest thing you have observed somebody doing in public?

I do. People are interesting, and it's fun to just sit and watch people exist or interact with other people. There is a big homeless population here in Portland, and I've seen some crazy mental illnesses come out rather explosively.

Yeah I always watch the homeless people and random crackheads that roam the neighborhoods around my work. Not just to people watch, but for safety reasons too. They are unpredictable.

I people watch at places like the mall or other stores too. But its not like I creepily stare at them or anything, I am just aware of my surroundings.

Being aware of your surroundings is priceless. I like knowing who's around me and where I am, what my escape routes are as well.

Yeah I suppose all my "people watching" and personal experiences with other people have made me paranoid. People watching isn't all about thinking about all the bad things other people might do. :P

Nope. I'm too busy doing what I need to do and don't care what other people are doing. Even when I'm in a crowded waiting room, I bring a book to read until my name is called.

I also do what Jazzy said, but instead of reading a book, I browse Off Topix on my smartphone via 3G data. :P There I just hope there will be at least someone I trust to hang out.
