What are some things that bother/annoy you on forums?

Whiners, keyboard commandos, liars, know-it-alls, superiority complexes, holier-than-thou attitudes, paranoid conspiracy theorists, control freaks, complainers....



I'm sure I'll think of more and when I do I will post again.

Keyboard commandos? What are they?



My biggest pet peeves are rude staff, immature staff or members, themes that are either too light or too dark to see, that sort of thing.

Drama Queens

Staff that have their favorites that can do NO wrong and get away with murder

I think its when they type in nothing but Caps.

Immature staff, rude staff, rude members, whiners, complainers, trolls, whenever you post on an opinonated thread and get attacked for your opinion, stalkers, drama queens

I think you about summed it all up for me, Anna. Those are most of the things that annoy me about forums as well.

A pet peeve for forums in general is unoriginal forums. Sure certain genre's have been done to death, but if you're going to do it, at least make it your own!

Pretty much what everyone else has said here. I have one of my own... when the shoutbox is used more than the forum itself

Another pet peeve of mine is forum games. You go to a general discussion forum and the Today's Posts are nothing but games. I truly don't know why forums, other than gaming forums, even have a game section. Would be a great thing if the forum games could be invisible and not show up on the Today's Posts list. Also, I don't think there should be a post count in that game section. Some members play these games just to 'up' their post count. Get rid of it is what I say!

Oh yeah, that was a growing problem at one forum I was at years ago Until that section got nuked sometime later.

I think everybody has just about covered what my dislikes would be.
Drama queens are a huge piss off for me and they come in both sexes.

I hate people that whine or cause unnecessary arguments. It really is quite pointless and does annoy me to the point of reporting them, or just leaving altogether if it doesn't get sorted.

^ This, and a few others such as when members post obscenely pointless topics. For example, I see some members on one of the forums I am on post really dumb topics on something you can easily find in the FAQ section of the board. Like changing your default group. =/ I also dislike it when members over use the smilies. This is something that actually gets on my nerves so much because their post is like, three words and then the rest of it is a frigging' row of 6 or 8 emotions in the post. -_-; Is that really necessary?
