After being either snowed in or "COLDed in" we wanted to do something different.

It was, VERY different, and a good day out.

PS: you are 'colded in' when it is -12 F (-24 C) and a strong wind taking the wind chill to...... well, I found out that MINUS FORTY is the same in Fahrenheit as it is Celsius.

I didn't know that before.

This photoessay is yet another example of why I love digital photography.

Between the two cameras I had, I took just over 100 photos.

I used 12 on the original article page, and 8 more on the 'extra' page.

One Fifth of the total taken 'went to press'. If I had had to pay Kmart to develop film....

Well, for one thing, I wouldn't have taken as many as I did. For example, the bowl of candy, I took four shots of it from a couple of different angles and one shot without the flash, just to make sure I had a good one. I took three of the girl in the Big Iron booth, which was no trouble at all for me, but again, I wanted to make sure I had the shot. That was seven photos, where two were used. If I was paying for developing, I know I would have taken less and hoped.

I had to take another one of the Sunflower machine because just as the camera snapped, a guy walked into frame. Oh well.

And then there is the time factor, the story hit the Net the same day we were there, in something like six hours from the time we got home, it was posted.

I never paid for One Hour developing. So, assuming they didn't lose my film, which had happened, it would be at least Monday before the story could go. And that is if the scanner was in a good mood and did its job without the weeping and gnashing of teeth that it has been known to cause.

Beautiful pictures. That floor layout map was mind boggling with all those exhibits. Really enjoyed the photos and essay. Your comments were very amusing too. Glad you finally found those Pink Pens!

Great job and thanks so much for sharing this with us!
