Whenever you go to the grocery store or the supermarket, do you save the plastic bags the items came in? If so, what do you use them for?

Just got home from the grocery store about half an hour ago. After we bring everything in we put the groceries away and save the bags that don't have holes in them. The ones that have holes in them we just throw away. So, whenever we change our trash cans in our rooms, we just use one of those plastic bags to replace the old one.

Yeah I get plastic. Sue me.

I can foresee environmentalists coming to this thread and preaching about those reusable cloth shopping bags.

We put them in the trashcan in my room and in the bathroom. I use them as lunch bags whenever I feel like bringing my lunch to school. We keep them in the closet in the kitchen.

Plastic Bags are illegal in South Australia, stores can't hand them out, we use these.

Really? They're legal in WA, but some people use envirobags like those.

Yeah, we were the first in the country to do it, i think it might happen in other countries soon too.

I get my shopping delivered by the supermarket and I return their bags when I have my next delivery. Ones that I get from other stores, I reuse as rubbish bags.

I'm with Nebulous on this one!!! I use Plastic so sue me! lol...

I've only had my own household for 3 years now so I brought old ways from my moms... We save the ones that don't have holes and we use them as trashbags for the bathrooms and if we need to carry something out of the house, or just whatever they can be used for...why waste them!

I keep them for other stuff, like bags so I can put my rubbish in before I put it out. I find them very useful so I keep them in a box.

When we go grocery shopping, the store doesn't give you bags unless you ask for them, and even then you have to pay for each bag. So we don't use any bags at all.

We keep our bags so we can re use them as rubbish bags or carrying other things in.

Why waste plastic bags when they can be used over and over again?

Most people have theyre own envirobags over here. But shops do hand them out if you ask.

I always re-use the plastic bags though.

That's what we do too.

I use them for trash bags, when the kids go on weekend trips--those are great for putting in dirty socks or underwear.

I keep a few in the car for whatever.... I love plants and sometimes will stop and get some while I'm out and they keep the car interior clean.---and the list goes on.
