PM Guidelines

This is mainly for forum admins but have you ever set up separate guidelines for private messages? Or do you allow users to message others about whatever they want as long as it follows the basic forum guidelines?

Never even really considered separate guidelines TBH - I guess with some niches it would make a lot of sense, such as if you had a focus on trading some kind of good, but for me at least there's not much point, general rules are grand.

Near impossible to enforce unless someone forwards a PM to a staff member, but just the usual nothing illegal.

Makes sense. I think on some previous forums, I have mentioned that advertising should not take place via private messages but as Demon said, almost impossible to enforce it. With DH, I've never bothered with separate guidelines for private messages
