You get up in the morning, go to your bathroom, shower, wash your hair, brush your teeth, and maybe put on some 'smell good stuff' and.... ....

... expose yourself to several times the daily recommended level of various toxins.

A Media Desk essay:

"what's in it?"

Not in mine ;) I'm already aware.
It's amazing how many people don't know or actually care.

Saw an interesting commercial this morning for another baby product. They talked all about how it was "pediatrician recommended" and how it was made from oatmeal.

Well, OK. It does have some oats in it. Wonderful.

It also has three kinds of alcohol in it. Plus "Distearyldimonium Chloride" which is a known eye and skin irritant and is suspected of being toxic to several internal organs. AND, that old stand by Petrolatum (petroleum jelly).

They failed to mention that on their commercial, and those are NOT listed on the company website for the product. You really have to go digging to find the ingredient list.

Which, I guess, is why I'm here.

My wife asked me to look up the shampoo she used to use.

Some interesting ingredients for sure.

Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo

Let's look at one:

Sodium Benzoate Both the Health Protection Branch of Canada and the Food and Drug Administration note that sodium benzoate is safe to consume in small doses, but it should not be combined with ascorbic acid, commonly known as citric acid or vitamin C, as this will develop a carcinogen know as benzene.

This carcinogen is believed to cause cell death, damage to the mitochondria in cells, DNA damage, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or leukemia. Studies have also indicated that foods that contain both artificial coloring and sodium benzoate may cause children to exhibit hyperactivity. These effects are largely considered to be more of a concern for those that drink large amounts of soda as the benzene levels in these beverages is higher than most other foods.

Now, after reading that, go look at what is IMMEDIATELY before the sodium benzoate in the list?

What doesnt give you cancer?

Mine has :

Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, Aqua (water), Sodium lauroyl sarcosinate, Sodium cocoamphoacetate, Cocamidopropyl betaine, Palmitamidopropyltrimonium chloride, Coco-glucoside, Glyceryl oleate, Sorbitan sesquicaprylate, Sodium hydroxymethylglycinate, Caprylyl/capryl glucoside, Lavandula angustifolia (Lavender) oil, Linalool, Citric acid.

What Doesn't give you cancer used to be my outlook to, but most of what does give us cancer has been added to stuff in the last 50 odd years. Not to mention Monsanto spraying shit on crops.
