Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire

I feel like these games weren't meant to be released so soon and this is just Nintendo's way of trying to dig their way out of this financial hole they're in. Anyway, I'm not complaining, I've been a huge Pokemon and Nintendo fan for over 13 years.

The original Ruby and Sapphire came out about like 3 or 4 years ago though. But I'm pretty happy over this though.

Huh? The originals came out over 10 years ago lol The remake is justified I just think they should have waited a little longer since X/Y just came out less than a year ago. I suppose they wanna mimic Activision and release Pokemon every year now?

10 years ago? Sure you aren't thinking of Blue, Red, and Yellow? Coulda sworn with Ruby and Sapphire it was less then that. As for mimicing Activision, who knows o.0

Original games came out in 1998, Gold & Silver were in 2000 and Ruby & Sapphire were in 2003. Eventually we got Diamond & Pearl in 2006 and Black & White in 2011. Pokemon has surely been around a long time xD

Really excited for this, actually! I lost my original Pokemon Ruby version a long time ago, and as for Sapphire, I'm getting a "The internal battery has run dry. The game can be played. However, clock based events will no longer occur". These will be great replacements.

Does that actually affect the gameplay? I never understood what it did xD Kept getting the message on my Emerald version but was able to get through it multiple times without any issues.

Ahh okay. I heard rumors it also affects soft resetting for a shiny pokemon but I don't know how much truth there is to that.

I don't remember what all events took place, but like EE said, it does affect the game play. Whatever happened at certain times of the day/week/hour/whatever no longer happen. It's like it's stuck in one time frame or whatever. It doesn't bother me though, because I never was crazy about the events in Ruby or Sapphire. It wasn't anything exciting like the Bug Catching Contests in Gold and Silver on Thursdays and Saturdays, and I believe it affects the fact that the feature where Pokemon can only be caught on a certain time of day or night no longer happens either.

I suppose that makes sense. Well anyway, it's gonna be nice to get these remakes. And if Gamefreak is going through the same route as Activision where they release a game yearly I won't really complain. I don't think I will ever grow out of Pokemon lol

I wouldn't know. How would they reset?

I agree with Ashley, it wasn't too big of a deal for RSE.

What people do for legendary pokemon is before you interact with it you save. Then you talk to it and it battles you, if you see the pokemon isn't shiny they soft reset their game and try again. Soft reseting means just pressing a combination of buttons that returns your game to the main menu where you can reload your save file. They keep doing this over and over until it shines, this can take 200 soft resets or it could take ten thousand. But I hear that in these games, once your battery goes dry, this is impossible to do since the pokemons stats, nature and so on will never change, including its chance of being shiny.

Some of the more hardcore fans do it daily lol I sometimes try it but I've only ever stuck with it once. I was sick one weekend and couldn't get out of bed so I put on some anime and just did it till I got the shiny Latios lol
