My area does not have a local police force. We rely on the State Police.

Due to extremely large area they patrol, response time varies. The last time I had to call them, a Jeep ran a stop sign as I was making a left hand turn. He hit the back panel of my truck. It took over 30 minutes for a State Trooper to arrive. That's a long wait especially if there had been injuries (which there wasn't).

Another time I called them, I had witnessed an accident and pulled over to help the person in the car. This time, there was a State Trooper in the area. Response time was less than 5 minutes.

Because of varied response time, I really can't rate them.

I'd give the police in my area a 5. They take forever to show up if you call them and they aren't much help when they get there. A lot of them are bullies and use their power to be complete assholes to everyone they come into contact with.

Got the police involved when all the crap was happening with my old co-admin. They didn't particularly see him as a threat but were very helpful anyway. Made my mum feel more at ease.

I'd give them an 8.
