WARSAW, Poland (AP) — A Polish mother of seven has successfully given birth to premature quintuplets, hospital officials in southern Poland said Tuesday.

The two boys and three girls were born through cesarean section Sunday, in the pregnancy’s 28th week, at the University Hospital in Krakow.

Weighing between 710-1,400 grams (25-49 ounces,) they were all put in incubators and given breathing support, but doctors said they are all doing fine, given their premature birth.

The quintuplets’ mother, Dominika Clarke, 37, told a news conference in Krakow Tuesday that she was feeling “much better than I had expected.”

“If you have a system, a calm approach and a positive attitude, then it is possible to have a really cool life with such a large bunch of children,” Clarke said.

Clarke and her British husband’s other children are aged between 10 months and 12 years, and include two pairs of twins.

Thoughts?

If they were in New Zealand they would get well over $1000 a week on welfare...

If they can't, she can put most of them up for adoption. Raising 5 kids is very very expensive.
Right; "Raising 5 kids is very, very expensive." But now they have + 7 = 12! :faint:

I wouldn't fault them if they adopted them out. I don't believe that should reflect badly on them as a parent.
You'd think that seven would be enough. Wonder if they'll ever figure out what causes this? :p

Probably that. Although having quintuplets isn't something one can do on purpose.
With seven already, though, even one more would be a burden for most people. Gotta suspect invitro, but that would be too totally insane?
Oh well, just glad I'm not involved. :ROFLMAO:

True, if you have seven already then the time to stop having kids would have been like 2 or 3 kids ago

Still I wouldn't encourage them to keep those kids unless they're rich, which they're more than likely not. I wouldn't want to keep 5 newborn babies.

Or maybe keep them in the family. Hopefully the mom and dad have a few brothers and sisters (uncles and aunts to the babies) that can take them in / help out too.
