I hate politicians. Why? Because they are two-faced and outright lie, of course. They don't keep their promises to their citizens. It's all talk, no action. I don't think I've met any honest ones up to date. Have you? Thus, my opinion is, that politicians are scammers and talkers only.

I don't think that numerous politicians believe what they're saying is merely hollow words however, whenever they're placed within their position, they sincerely are left overwhelmed and quite frankly, bit off more than they can chew. (Obama!) Obviously, rests numerous bad ones but I don't know, I try to see the good in other politicians at times.

Not all true, in their campaign they always promise a lot to get voters, but once they're elected they have to play the political game, which includes compromise, party politics, etc. In the US it gets even worse with all the sponsoring of the campaign by private companies who manipulate politics that way. It's not that the people aren't decent, it's that the system is complicated. Of course, there are real scumbags in probably every government, but generalising it is wrong imo.

It is all about incentives- always was. They have an incentive to promise more than they can deliver during election season so long as voters don't call the bluffs. They have an incentive to sell out during their time in office to get more money for the next election. It is a sad and vicious cycle and one that the people really need to realize and start putting more pressure on the politicians for. Personally, I have little faith in Congress today because for one most people don't realize what is going on and who holds the real power and second, they as human nature and incentives have lead them to have for the most part sold out.
