For real though, ? printers. Constantly running out of ink and forcing me to buy colour ink when all I want is a black and white print job! Epson seem to be the worst of them all.

Do you guys hate printers as well?

Those printers are crap.

The only ones that work are the MFPs like Xerox, Canon, Ricoh, Kyocera, Konica Minolta..

Ps. I work at a MFPs printers distributor, i won't say the brand :)

Oh do I have an image...

Also I had to sell them, at a time they became disposable and I had people coming in who had their old printer for up to a decade and I had to explain to them they were going to get 3-4 years out of them max. Hated that, glad I'm out of retail now, specially since you can't find a printer to buy.

I know the feeling, doesn't matter how good or costly they can be. It's still Rip at times. Who still prints things off anyway. Ink is not cheap and they tend to leak over time. If you move home to home they can get damaged in shipment. 5 years is a good life for most printers.

I hate printers but also see that there is going to be more need of it when you don't want to use the outside services for printing. Considering we have pandemic around and we need prints as well. So having printers around you always helps too.

A few years ago I got myself a simple brother black only laser printer, love it and the ink never goes bad on it.

Don't but ink printers. They suck. Buy a laser one.

Are laser cost more to run?
No, the machine itself is more expensive but once you get it you'll never need to write anything on this thread :P

I assume some sort of business should offer printers on leasing so that's the best shot.

We have one at home. I find the whole thing annoying too, always so demanding lol.

Laser is only good if you don't do pics and depending which one you get they can cost a lot but in the long run can save you a lot of money as well. It's a game of math really.

I stick to what I have till it it's death :P don't use it that much anyway

That's kinda obvious, pics ain't for a common printer anyways. In the long run it's always more efficient. Your operative costs are much lower if you really need to print documents.

Someone out there needs to create an "ethical brand" printer that doesn't take advantage of its consumers. Now that would be a good business

What do you mean by that? there's no such brand that would kick against its own food plate :P

True true, but you never know. The problem I guess is that they would then increase the prices of the printer and the ink to ensure they still can make a profit. And then people won't buy from them and stick with the awful printer companies :(
