How do people treat each other on public transportation in your city? For example, do people give up their seats to people who need them?

Some do, most don't. Aside from that, I haven't noticed anything special. People get in, take a seat if there is one available, stand if there isn't (or stand anyway even if there are available seats), some talk to each other, others stare at their phones with or without earphones jammed in their ears, occasionally someone argues with a driver over a ticket price, but all in all, everyone just weathers it through and go on with their lives.

like they are the only person their

like: if their were 6 people on the train and the train stopped and someone got on, passenger 7 would do all in their power to get the other 6 to leave because they think they own it at the time- they got on the train, so it's their train

not so bad with buses though

I don't use public transit at all personally so I dunno.

Pretty good; the Catawba Valley (Burke, Caldwell, Catawba & Alexander Counties) have a decent public transit system (Greenway Public Transportation, a/k/a Greenway) that run multiple routes in all four counties plus Hickory & Morganton-specific routes. I've used them in the past to go to/from doctor's appointment and they're pretty on-the-ball with on-time arrivals and customer service, etc.

These are the Hickory-specific buses they regularly use...

..and these are the Morganton/Burke Co.-specific ones.

Around here, most of the buses drive around empty most of the time.

There are a couple of routes that are busy in the morning and evening, but other than that, it is unusual to see a bus in the middle of the day with more than two or three people on it.

That's the way it has been here for many years; if your examples are accurate, your busses are crowded compared to ours. They just drive these big honkers around either empty or "out of service". Government subsidized, of course, "fare" is free, but they're still mostly empty.....our tax dollars at work??

Grrrrrrrrr.....why did you have to bring this up? :ROFLMAO:

Those look just our busses, ours are just painted different colors.

Same here, I sometimes wonder how they stay in business.
