Hi Off Topix, after enough of your seemingly endless e-mails I've decided to stop back in to share with you what I have been (and still am) working on in recent months, in the hope you will provide good critique, questions and/or comments on it. The following are lyrics to an avant-garde album that intends to blend psychedelic and folk, to form a genre I am referring to loosely as blue folk. The experiment is titled Pumpkinhead.

Everything so far is a work in progress and will continue to be such until the music is recorded and put out.

Pumpkinhead

Waving my thumb in the median

Looking down the ravine and

Calling for someone to know

Here's the pit trap we bought

Dug in the island of crossroads

Our dictionaries met with antidotes

to ebb the tide and help it flow

Then lapse into sandy alcoves cool and dark

Pumpkinhead, II

Is it evil to dance

If I sacrifice the ballroom?

Stutter my own tune to four chords and

Pale lyrics about you

bar my intentions, black painted gold

if I outline them would you go?

to release them from the furnace of affliction

and open the cage

would chase the birds away

Hypnagogia (Balloon)

awake but dreaming

that one day, it'd rain

Said I don't feel ok to the wind

and watched it float away

like the deep rooted balloons

if you trace their vines you'll find

they go six feet underground

if you trace their vines you might find

where you might find me

who cut their veins?

Ninth Wave

as I lie dead, dead and awake

mourning the bridges demons are burning

I'll flip and turn the explanation

manifested in stasis

day tripping through autumn's tail

ripping apart the soul whose bonded and

breaking hearts that work more like sliding scales

until they don't wager a fair bargain anymore

flocks in flight drop and their pain dissipates

soon, the world will be held in the hands of their wave

some among us all will celebrate the wake

movement onto new planes

dawn broke the absence of light in the hall

skeptics fought for any feeling at all

the moon winked a promising eye

I'll be back again in due time

and the people flooded the streets

chanting sweet victory

and they did not see the sun twirling

dusk came along

scaring the people's sweet songs,

salting their tongues

Written down lyrics aren't perceived the same as when you hear them in song... But so far so good is my opinion.

That's why I was apprehensive to post any lyrics on the internet, with the exception of one sample I posted to Interstate 8's boards, until now... but the music will be up in the next few months, if things progress as I plan for them to. Since my guitars'll be back from the shop tomorrow (damn bridge sunk in when I tried to restring it) I might be able to get a demo or two out in a couple weeks time. And thank you.
