  • What spring to mind when you hear the term ‘racial profiling’?
  • Is racial profiling OK if it leads to a reduction in terrorist attacks?
  • Do you agree with racial profiling in regards to airport security?
  • Is racial profiling simply a form of government-sponsored racism?
  • Is racial profiling a good or a bad thing?
  • Are you guilty of subconsciously (or otherwise) racial profiling?

Debate!

If "Race" does not matter, then why this:

The new Obamacare application for employees separates Latinos from the traditional race category, offering six different types of Hispanic classifications.

The application for small business workers on line 22 asks workers: "If Hispanic/Latino, ethnicity (OPTIONAL--Check all that apply.) Mexican; Mexican American; Chicano/a; Puerto Rican; Cuban; Other."

All others are lumped into question 23. "Race (OPTIONAL--Check all that apply.) White; Filipino; Vietnamese; Guamanian or Chamorro Black; Black or African American; American Indian or Alaska Native; Japanese; Other Asian; Samoan; Asian Indian; Korean; Native Hawaiian; Other Pacific Islander; Chinese; Other."

The one's that get all upset over the profiling are the one's of the race being profiled.
If almost all the the crimes in one area are being committed by black people as a cop guess who i'm looking at for any more crimes committed ? DUH....figure it out.

MSNBC just keeps fanning the fire:

"another country heard from"

The Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. has stepped into the “Duck Dynasty” uproar, using the case of civil rights hero Rosa Parks to make his case against show star Phil Robertson.

“At least the bus driver, who ordered Rosa Parks to surrender her seat to a white person, was following state law,” Jackson said in a statement, according to the Chicago Tribune. “Robertson’s statements were uttered freely and openly without cover of the law, within a context of what he seemed to believe was ‘white privilege.’”

What springs to mind? Uhm, racism.
You don't need to be especially lucky to guess who's going to be "randomly screened".

I've been 'randomly screened' a number of times, here in Australia.
Last time I flied, a friend saw me off at the gates.

HIM: Asalaamu alaykum brother.
ME: Wa3alaykum asalaam. Insha'Allah I will see you soon.
AIRPORT GUY: You have been selected to be randomly checked. (This was a couple of years ago. Nor exact words.)
MY INNER MONOLOGUE: Why does this keep happening?

Since "9/11" I have only flown maybe six times. (And I may never do it again.)

Of those six trips, I got "randomly screened" including two strip searches, three times. So they're batting .500 with me.

My conclusion: As a big, ugly, long haired, full bearded, half crippled, white guy, I fit somebody's profile as a 'threatening character'. To the point where at the SeaTac airport on a return flight, they called for backup before they said I was to be strip searched.

They also X-rayed my cane twice, and tried to open it. I think they were disappointed when they realized that what I said about it was true, it was one solid piece of walnut and did NOT have a sword in it.

I resisted saying "A-slasm a lickum" (however you spell it) to them when they were done, I'm pretty sure their sense of the absurd would not have appreciated it.

Just to make sure I'm understanding this 100%, they made you get naked?

Once... yes, at BWI going to Gulfport, MS. In a side room, with two TSA agents watching, They seemed to have wanted to make sure I wasn't concealing a nuclear weapon in my boxer-briefs.

The other time it was down to underwear at SeaTac as mentioned.

Once at Philly flying to Dallas for business they 'frisked me' very well including having me 'loosen' my clothing.

Any more questions about why I never intend to fly again?

MSNBC, a gift of racism that just keeps on giving

It appears that MSNBC is becoming a 24-hour race-baiting network.

On MSNBC’s Now Friday, king race-baiter Michael Eric Dyson said, “Phil Robertson and the Duck Dynasty is part of a majority white supremacist culture that either consciously or unconsciously incubates hatred toward those who are different” (video follows with transcript and commentary):

MSNBC Host Apologizes To Romney Family After Mocking Mitt Romney's Black Grandchild

Dec. 31, 2013

MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry offered an apology to the Romney family on Tuesday after a panel on her show mocked the fact that one of Mitt Romney's grandchildren is black.

On Sunday's "Melissa Harris-Perry" show, Harris-Perry led a panel in discussing the "Photos of the Year," which included a Romney family Christmas photo. In the photo, Romney is seen holding his adopted grandchild, Kieran, who is black.

During the segment, guest panelist Pia Glenn sang, "One of these things is not like the others! One of these things just isn't the same," a reference to Kieran. "And that little baby, front and center, would be the one."

For her part, Harris-Perry imagined Kieran Romney and North West, the daughter of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, marrying in the future.

I don't know what all the fuss is about, If crimes are being committed by green skinned people then when a crime is committed I'm looking real hard at those with green skin first.
